Taylor and Courteney's first holiday together, years ago, was a trip to Port Douglas to dive the Great Barrier Reef. So there was something quietly fitting about coming back here to actually get married — paperwork signed on Four Mile Beach, then wandering through town together afterwards for photos, taking in the place that meant something to them long before it became the backdrop to their wedding day.

Taylor and Courteney kept their day exactly as chilled as they wanted it — no big production, just the two of them, their celebrant, and a picnic to celebrate afterwards. Together five years, engaged for one (Taylor proposed at a tiny house she'd had decorated for the occasion), they've built the kind of relationship that runs on the simple things: footy on the weekends, movie nights, and their two dogs, Nala and Bentley, who no doubt would have been there too if they hadn't travelled for a destination elopement.

It's the kind of elopement I love most — nothing to perform for anyone else, just two people making it official somewhere that already meant something to them.
