Elise and Andrew's wedding vision came with one clear brief: keep it chill, and make it feel like "your uncle's 50th birthday party — but for a wedding." The original plan was a ceremony on the sand at Garners Beach, but the weather had other ideas — the day moved to Mission Beach Family Church instead, before heading to the Tully Country Club for a reception built entirely around a jungle-disco, bright-colour theme.

Elise and Andrew met through a mutual friend at a 30th birthday party — no lightning bolt, by their own account, just a night of banter that slowly won them both over. From there it moved fast: they met in May, were dating by June, and engaged by December. One of their favourite memories together says a lot about who they are — a night out in Sydney that started with karaoke and was meant to end at a club, but instead saw them dancing under the stars by the river, feeling, as they put it, like it was "just us against the world."

Andrew proposed at Flying Fish Point, near Innisfail — the site of their very first date — taking the time to plan a night Elise still describes as surreal. These days, life revolves around walks, hikes, swims, movies, and Andrew's dog Link, with Elise chasing adventure and Andrew happiest camping. That same easy, unpretentious energy carried right through the wedding day — even the last-minute venue change didn't throw them off their stride.
