There's a stretch of time just before golden hour properly sets in — the light's already turning soft, but it hasn't gone gold yet — that Ravensbourne Lookout wears particularly well. Am and Owen met me up there in exactly that window, rolling hills stretching out behind them, the kind of light that makes everything feel a little dreamy without even trying.


For Am and Owen, this session wasn't just about getting some nice photos before the wedding — it was a chance to actually practise. Neither of them had spent much time in front of a camera before, and with their wedding day on the way, they wanted to walk into it already knowing what it felt like to have someone photographing them, rather than working it out for the first time on the day itself.


It's exactly what I'd recommend to any engaged couple, honestly. By the end of the session, the awkwardness had worn off and they were properly enjoying themselves — which is the whole idea.
